Grand Master Wood Board Origin (1980) U-RARE

It was difficult to find the origins of the board used for the Fidelity Grand Master.
A little by chance and a lot by perseverance, I finally found the original Grand Master board.
The original chessmen sold with this board were taller and bigger than the ones of the Grand Master. They are more sophisticated, more luxurious. The knights have nacre eyes. Board and chessmen were made in France.
Interestingly, with the Grand Master, Fidelity was initiating the use of already commercialized traditional boards .
AVE will follow with the famous Auto Response Board (ARB) of Applied Concepts Inc.: their 21 inches wood board was manufactured by the Drueke Company of Grand Rapids (Michigan). With the Prestige, Fidelity will also use the Drueke Boards made in Grand Rapids, USA.
