Re: Legend III...REALLY RARE?
Hello Maurice,
I guess this is not that rare. I could find one in a few seconds

Can you tell us more why you are asking this questions ?
Best,
Fabrice

Re: Legend III...REALLY RARE?
Several years ago, we had a discussion on Hiarcs about the Legend III.
We were asking if it were released.
Pretty rare.
This is a known fact. The proof: the seller is asking $300
And BTW, I have it already.
kr,
Maurice

Re: Legend III...REALLY RARE?
Why all this interest for the Legend series?
They are rare and were believed being only prototypes for some of them and not released for sale.
It is said that the Legend III is the table version of the Avenger, but in their moves they are different. The Legend III introduces more variations in its moves. Spacious Mind concluded his tests on both of them saying that "Avenger and Legend 3 are not exactly 100% clones".
Summary for the Legend Computers:
- CXG Sphinx Legend (CXG-301) 1992, CXG Sphinx Concerto 1992, Fidelity Miami (?)
- CXG Sphinx Legend II (301E-2) 1993, Excalibur Legend II 1993, Krypton Challenge 1994, Systema Challenge 1994.
- Excalibur Legend III (301E-3) 1996. Table model of Excalibur Avenger (not sure; does not play the same)
and the Krypton Regency?
Discussions:
- Spacious Mind: http://www.hiarcs.net/forums/viewtopic. ... b16ab67974
For Nick, there are 3 Horvath versions of the software:
Version 1 = 1992 = CXG Concerto & CXG Legend
Version 2 = 1993 = Excalibur Legend II
Version 3 = 1994 = Krypton/System Challenge
- Hein Veldhuis: http://www.schaakcomputers.nl/hein_veld ... eased).pdf
Hein released some interesting documentation on these intriguing computers.
Discussion remains open.
