Hi
my name is yoyochessboard and i am interested in chess computers.
i leave in France.
to be more detailled i am interested in the upgrade of the chess boards we have form fidelity electronics, mephisto, novag or others.
i am working on 6502 and 680x0 based boards.
i have sucessfully modified :
fidelity
designer 2000 from 3 Mhz to 16 Mhz
designer 2100 from 5 Mhz to 16 Mhz
designer 2000/2100 display from 6 Mhz to 12 Mhz
kishon and chesster (7/8 Mhz)
excellence family (EP12,6080,6080B, par xecellence) from 3/4 Mhz to 15 Mhz with par_excellence binary
sensory revesi board from 1.5 Mhz to 8 mhz
fidelity designer 2325 from 20 Mhz to 25 Mhz (68020)
and some others (SC9,...)
i also modified a few mephisto as:
milano nigel short from 4.9 Mhz to 16 Mhz
montecarlo IV LE to 15 Mhz
and working on some module like MMIV and MMV or modena also.
my work always start by dumping the code and disassembling it to have the main aspects of the binary and see the main functions and how to modify the binary to meet the requirements of the new speed.
my main difficulty is now having access to some more un-common boards like playmatic, SC12 or polgar modules to reverse and upgrade them.
regards.
