Hello All,
I had send a Fidelity Sensory 12B to Mr Bucke for tuning it up to 14Mhz
Well i did received it back ,but i had a feeling it was not playing better at all
So i asked a other Collector Hein Veldhuis that i could borrow his 12B
So i compared them and well..mine feelings where right!
It played the same as the 12B of Hein
So i contacted Mr.Bucke and i send the 12B again
First i have to say Mr.Bucke did work on it because i open the 12B .
Well a few weeks back Mr.Bucke did send me a Mail
He found out that mine 12B had the 12A program on board....
Well ok 1 12B with 12A on board i can understand ,but also the one from Hein .....
And here comes mine point .
Fidelity did some strange things back then i think
Regarding to Hein it started already in 1978 ! with the Chess Challenger 10, with the A and B version in 1978
And that went on with the CC 7 en CC Voice as well
How to find out what version u have from the Sensory 12B ?
Well u have to wait for that ,because mine 12B is on the way back
Also i will borrow the one from Hein Veldhuis again
What would be helpful is when i give in a position in here with the 12B (A) from Hein plays with solution time what your 12B plays and solution time
Kr,Hans

Re: Fidelity Sensory 12B
Hello Hans,
It would be useful to have photos of the mother boards of your Sensory and the one of Hein. It would help to see the microprocessor.
For what I know, at least 2 different models of 12B were made by Fidelity. Moreover these 2 different 12B models have distinctive difference on the board: the 12B is written on a black rectangle background and the other on the golden usual background.
I will look more carefully to my own Sensory 12A and 12B and make some photos.

Hello Hans,
Could you tell us the results of your investigation?
Did you find a way to differentiate V12A from V12B?

Re: Fidelity Sensory 12B
Hello Maurice ,
Yes mine plays different now ,we did change the eprom so the real 12B program is inside and not the Program A what was in it
Also it runs on 12Mhz ,so it plays also a much better and stronger
Maybe u could give me a test position vs your 12B version?
