Chess 2001

CXG NEWCREST TECHNOLOGY LTD (CXG Systems). Original company was Cassia (founded in 1979), then White and Allcock (in 1981), becoming CXG Newcrest Technology Ltd in 1984, and replaced by National Telecommunications in 1991.

Chess 2001

The chess 2001 came in 1983 in several versions.
During the following years, they were several variations made by different companies using the same manufacturer located in Hong-Kong. In most of the cases, the manufacturer was Newcrest Technology, but the name of the brands was varying.

One of the early models is extremely rare in my opinion. I saw it in photo in an advertisement published on the Veldhuis site:

This particular Chess 2001 is named in the advertisement as "King Chess 2001". The board seems to be in wooden material.
Except for this one, I will show the pictures of the Chess 2001 of my collection.
