APPLIED CONCEPTS (dba Stalker Radar) was founded by Alan Mead in 1977. Their Chess Computer products were distributed by an American marketing/retail enterprise "Chafitz", and by a German manufacturer/distributor "Sandy Electronic".

Boris was manufactured by Applied Concepts Inc. in 1977.
It was distributed and released commercially by Chafitz in 1978.
These Chafitz models were slightly different from the first ones of Applied Concepts.
- Rear label of the company: Chafitz;
- Absence of the name of Applied Concepts Inc. under the name of Boris.
- Patent Pending under the King Logo;
- Simple Reset button On/Off
