CONIC GROUP - Conic was the brand of the CONIC Group.The founder was Alex Au Yan-din. He bought in 1965 a plastic factory that he renamed Chee Yuen Industrial. It was the largest electronics manufacturer in Hong Kong. In 1973, Alex Au incorporated Cony Electronic Products and manufactured cassette tape players and video. In 1975, CONIC INVESTMENT was formed. The firm began manufacturing electronic products such as radio, tape recorders, watches, TV, games and answering machines under its own brands such as Conic, Contec, Audiotronics, Alex and Zegna (in total more than 40 Brands).

In 1981, Conic competed in the Travemünde world championship with the Conic X (Experimental).
The computer was sixth on eight candidates for the title.
After the Championship, the Conic X was marketed as Conic Korchnoi (model 7013).
